About the standard

ISO 22301 sets out the requirements for a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) — a framework that helps organizations anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions. It applies to organizations of any type, size, or complexity, letting each adapt the standard to its own operating environment. The standard works both preventatively and evaluatively, helping organizations assess how well they can keep critical operations running through a crisis.

Levels available

  • Foundation — Covers the basics of business continuity management and the structure of a BCMS, giving learners a solid orientation to ISO 22301's requirements.
  • Lead Implementer — For those responsible for building and running a BCMS, developing the leadership and technical skills to implement the standard in their organization.
  • Lead Auditor — For those responsible for auditing a BCMS, building the competence to assess conformity and support certification.

Who should attend

This track is aimed at business continuity, risk, and resilience professionals, IT and operations managers, and anyone responsible for keeping critical services running through disruptions. It also suits auditors and consultants who need to assess an organization's continuity arrangements against an internationally recognized standard.

Learning objectives

  • Understand how a BCMS aligns with and supports an organization's broader objectives
  • Develop the leadership and management skills needed to implement a BCMS based on ISO 22301
  • Learn to identify risks and minimize the impact of incidents on business operations
  • Gain the competence to improve recovery time for critical functions
  • Understand how to build and maintain a professional reputation for continuity best practices

Why attend

Organizations across every industry face growing disruption risk, from cyber incidents to supply chain shocks, making resilient continuity planning a business necessity rather than a nice-to-have. Certification demonstrates the ability to lead teams through disruptions, establish strong continuity controls, and maintain conformity with ISO 22301 — strengthening both individual career prospects and organizational trust with customers and partners.
