About the standard
ISO 28000 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving a security management system (SeMS), with particular relevance to supply chain security. The 2022 edition, retitled "Security and resilience — Security management systems," clarifies that the standard applies to all organizations, not just those in the supply chain, and follows ISO's harmonized structure so it can be integrated with related standards such as ISO 31000 (risk management) and ISO 22301 (business continuity).
