About the standard
ISO 37301 sets out requirements and guidance for establishing, developing, implementing, evaluating, maintaining, and improving a Compliance Management System (CMS). It gives organizations a structured way to meet mandatory obligations — laws, regulations, licenses — as well as voluntary ones such as internal policies and codes of conduct. Built on the principles of integrity, good governance, proportionality, transparency, and accountability, ISO 37301 is the certifiable successor to the earlier guideline-only ISO 19600, and follows ISO's common high-level structure so it can stand alone or integrate with other management systems.
Levels available
- Foundation — Familiarizes entry-level professionals and compliance team members with ISO 37301's requirements and guidance for a CMS.
- Lead Implementer — For those responsible for implementing a CMS, covering the knowledge and skills to build a compliance program based on the standard.
- Lead Auditor — For those responsible for auditing a CMS, developing the competence to assess it in line with ISO 19011 and the certification process in ISO/IEC 17021-1.
Who should attend
This course track is for compliance officers, legal and governance professionals, internal auditors, and members of compliance teams responsible for building or assessing a culture of compliance. It's also useful for executives who need to understand how a CMS supports the organization's broader governance obligations.
Learning objectives
- Understand how a CMS gives organizations a structured approach to meeting mandatory and voluntary compliance obligations
- Learn to develop the policies, processes, and controls that build a positive compliance culture
- Gain the competence to identify and respond quickly to compliance concerns
- Understand how a CMS protects organizational reputation and integrity by preventing unethical conduct
- Learn how to support an organization through a formal third-party conformity assessment
Why attend
Consistently meeting compliance obligations is now a baseline expectation for organizations seeking sustainable growth, not an optional extra. Training in ISO 37301 builds the competence to help an organization identify and respond to noncompliance, strengthen its standing with regulators, and demonstrate due diligence — while giving professionals a peer-recognized credential as an auditor, implementer, or CMS team member.
